Strong foreign fund inflows and a weaker greenback supported the rupee’s upward movement. Other factors that supported the rupee rally included the hopes of a breakthrough in the India-US trade deal and positive domestic market sentiments. The only issue for the rupee today was the rise in crude oil prices that limited its rally to an extent. While the rupee opened at 88.14 against the USD at the interbank foreign exchange, it traded within 88.06-88.19 before finishing at 88.11.
