OANDA Japan plans to discontinue MT4 server

Oanda Japan announced the termination of the Meta Trader 4 server from its platform. The company is terminating the Tokyo Server MT4 Discretionary Plan and FX Tokyo Server MT4 “Forex-oj5k.” The shutdown of both servers is scheduled for December 13, 2024.

The company officially announced on its Oanda Japan website. We are pleased to announce that the Tokyo Server MT4 Discretionary Plan will be discontinued on December 13, 2024 (scheduled).

The schedule until the end of the service is as follows.

・ September 26 (Thursday) Tokyo Server MT4 Discretionary Plan Sub-Account New Creation Completed

・October 18 (Fri) Suspension of accepting new orders from the end of trading

・ Offer ends at 15 o'clock on Friday, December 13

The broker encourages traders to use the Tokyo Server MT5 discretionary plan. It stated, If you wish to trade with the discretionary plan, please use MT5. It has evolved in both function and operation compared to MT4, and we recommend using MT5.

If you are currently using the MT4 discretionary plan, please consider using MT5 as well.

The company did not disclose the real reason for the discontinuation of the MT4 server from its platform. The broker also asked traders to close their MT4 before 13 December.
