Typhoon Danas Hit Taiwan. Here's What EBC Did Differently

On 6 July, Typhoon Danas tore through Taiwan's southern region, bringing intense rainfall and destructive winds. In Tainan, thousands of homes were flooded or damaged. Public services collapsed under the pressure, with extended electricity and water outages across the city. Losses in agriculture were estimated at NT$1.6 billion (approx. USD49 million), while the education sector faced damages exceeding NT$260 million (approx. USD8.9 million).

We Responded Without Delay

As the full scale of the disaster became clear, we moved quickly. We donated USD10,000 to the city's official Social Assistance Fund, aimed at restoring essential services and helping families begin recovery. This wasn't about headlines. It was about getting aid to where it was needed most.
