October 2, 2020 The Securities Market Commission (CMVM) warns that the entity that operates through the website https://www.bcpprivate.com/ is improperly using identifying elements, such as a similar name, address and legal person identification number, of the financial intermediary registered with the CMVM, Banco Comercial Português, SA. The CMVM clarifies that this entity, contrary to what has been disclosed, has no relationship with the financial intermediary Banco Comercial Português, SA, registered with the CMVM, and which is not the subject of this communication nor, in any way, targeted by it. The entity that operates through the website https://www.bcpprivate.com/ is not authorized or registered with the CMVM to carry out any financial intermediation activity in Portugal, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs a) and b) of no. 1 of article 295 of the Securities Code. The CMVM also warns that this entity, which improperly uses identifying elements of the entity registered with the CMVM, is not legally qualified to carry out advertising or prospecting for clients aimed at concluding financial intermediation contracts. To ensure that a given entity that offers investment services in financial instruments is authorized to carry out activities in Portugal, you must consult the list of authorized financial intermediaries (through this link) or the list of entities authorized to provide financial services in Portugal under a Free Regime Provision of Services (LPS) (through this link).
