To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of Estonian brokers, WikiFX survey team determines to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Estonia to visit forex broker Lightyear as planned according to its regulatory address that Harju maakond, Tallinn, Põhja-Tallinna linnaosa, Volta tn 1, 10412, Estonia.

The investigators came to Volta tn 1 in Põhja-Tallinna linnaosa of Harju maakond, Tallinn for an on-site visit to the brokers office, and located a commercial building encompassing offices, retail stores and eateries. Boasting convenient transportation, the building was situated in close proximity to Balti station and the main transportation hub in the city, with retail and food stores on the ground floor. Additionally, many company logos were displayed prominently on the façade of the building, including the name and logo of Lightyear.

Upon arrival at the building for further investigation, the survey personnel spotted a detailed directory inside, which showed the company name and logo of Lightyear. Moreover, there was no security staff in the lobby, and no reception desk was found. The inspection team then took the elevator to the 4th floor, where the brokers name could be seen at suite 409. However, people were not allowed to enter without an appointment in advance. Thus, it was not possible to determine the actual operational size and working environment of the company.

Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the broker has a physical presence at the location.

Conclusion

The survey team went to Estonia to visit broker Lightyear as scheduled, and found the company at its regulatory address. This signifies that it has a physical business office at the place. Unfortunately, it is not feasible to ascertain the brokers specific operational size and working environment due to a lack of an appointment. Meanwhile, investors are advised to make an informed decision following much deliberation.
