IndustryRupee Depreciation: Plunges 12 Paise Against USD
The rupee continued to depreciate against the US dollar on July 29, 2025, owing to a strengthening US dollar index and a jump in crude oil prices. It dropped 12 paise against the USD to close at 86.82 (provisional) today.
According to forex traders, the rupee’s fall is attributable to the increased dollar demand from importers and oil marketing companies.
The rupee opened the day at 86.76 against the USD at the interbank foreign exchange market. It fell to an intra-day low of 86.92 before settling at 86.82.
