A Visit to Agility Forex in Canada – No Office Found
Danger Canada

Reason for this visit

The forex market is extremely distinctive in Canada because the country has its own financial authority, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), which provides a unified management of all financial industries. Meanwhile, CSA set up its subsidiary body, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), in 2008, which is primarily responsible for the regulation of the retail forex market. And the IIROC has independently built many low-level regulatory bodies supervising three regions and ten provinces respectively. All these institutions release multiple independent laws and regulations. The integration of unity and differentiation in regulation makes the Canadian forex market the most complex in the world. In order to help investors or practitioners to gain a more comprehensive understanding of forex brokers in Canada, WikiFX survey team decides to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Canada to visit forex broker Agility Forex as planned according to its regulatory address that Suite 15-105 - 555 Burrard Street Vancouver, BC, Canada V7X 1M8.

A seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site verification of the prominent forex broker Agility Forex in Canada.

The target address is located in the “Two Bentall Center” building, situated in the heart of Vancouver's financial district. The surrounding streets are bustling, and the area boasts convenient transportation. The building features a modern exterior, typical of a high-end commercial office tower. According to records, the address should correspond to Suite 105 on the 15th floor. However, upon entering the building lobby, the field investigators observed that multiple floors of the building house shared office spaces under the “WeWork” brand, with certain areas referred to as the “WeWork Tower.” This suggests that the address may be part of a shared office environment, requiring further verification of the specific suite's occupation.

The investigators attempted to access the office area through the lobby. Although the lobby is equipped with a digital directory screen, a search for companies starting with the letter “A” yielded no results for “Agility Forex” or any business name containing “Agility.” Subsequently, the inspection team tried to proceed to the 15th floor to confirm the exact location but found that the entrance to the floor was secured with access gates requiring a keycard or authorization. Lacking the necessary credentials, they were unable to enter the 15th floor.

Inside the lobby, no signage or logos related to “Agility Forex” were displayed. The branding for the shared office space “WeWork” was clearly visible, but no independent signage for the target company was observed. Additionally, while the lobby was accessible, the investigators could not approach the reception or office areas to photograph company-specific identifiers. Given that the building includes shared office spaces, the investigators specifically verified whether Suite 15-105 was part of a shared workspace. Upon inquiry with the building management, it was confirmed that this suite number was not registered as a “WeWork”-managed space, nor were there records of any third-party company using it, thus ruling out the possibility of a shared office arrangement.

Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that Agility Forex does not have a physical presence at the location.

It indicates that the broker does not have a physical business office or it just utilizes the address solely for registration purposes. Accordingly, investors are advised to make a sensible decision following much deliberation.
