Reasons for Field Survey
The Japanese foreign exchange market is one of the world's most important forex trading markets, boasting a long history, a mature financial system, and strict regulatory mechanisms. It holds a crucial position in the global forex market. With numerous participants and high trading activity, it is subject to strict oversight by regulatory agencies such as the Financial Services Agency of Japan, ensuring the market's standardized operation. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of forex dealers in the region, the field research team conducted an on-site visit to Japan.
Field Survey Process
This issue's field research team traveled to Tokyo, Japan, as planned, to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker Ameriprise Financial. Publicly available information lists its office address as Toranomon Hills Building, 1-17-1 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Dedicated to ensuring stringent investor safety, the professional and experienced field research team traveled to Tokyo according to a carefully planned process. Based on the aforementioned information, they conducted an on-site visit to Ameriprise Financial.
Based on the address information, the field research team traveled to the Toranomon area of Tokyo's Minato Ward and conducted an on-site verification of Ameriprise Financial, the brokerage firm claimed to be located at the aforementioned address.
The field research team successfully arrived at their target building, Toranomon Hills Building. The building is located in a prime Tokyo area, surrounded by well-developed commercial facilities, and its overall environment is considered average. Due to the building's recognizable exterior, the surveyors were able to capture a panoramic view of the building.
The surveyors attempted to enter the building lobby but were denied permission. Without access, they were unable to verify the Ameriprise Financial signage. The surveyors contacted the building's front desk regarding the company, who stated that shared offices were located on the 15th and 16th floors, but could not confirm whether Ameriprise Financial was located within those offices.
Due to the building's strict access control, the surveyors were unable to confirm the specific floor location or enter any potential office areas. Throughout the survey, no Ameriprise Financial logo or related signs were found, either on the exterior or inside the building, and no photographs were taken of the alleged front desk or its logo.
Thus, the survey confirmed that the brokerage firm, Ameriprise Financial, does not exist at the aforementioned address.
Field Survey Summary
The surveyors visited the Ameriprise Financial as planned. They could not find the broker's company name and other information at its publicly displayed business place, indicating that the broker does not have a real business location. Investors are advised to consider this information comprehensively before making decisions.
