I was led to believe that my trading spread for oil would be maintained at $0.05 per barrel, which made me really confident about my trading strategy.So, on December 23rd, feeling good about my prospects, I decided to place quite a hefty order, 15 lots to be exact. I thought I had my risks covered, you know? But boy, was I wrong.After opening my position, I see my spread literally skyrocket out of nowhere to a whopping $4.86. I just couldn't believe my eyes, it was like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from.I mean, from expecting a manageable spread to suddenly seeing it almost 100 times higher, that's just crazy, right? I was totally blown away and, honest to god, I took a serious hit. There went my risk-to-reward ratio, all blown to smithereens.
