General Information & Regulation

Market Instruments

CAPITALFX advertises that it offers trading in Forex, Stocks, Commodities, Indices and Cryptocurrencies.

Account Types

CAPITALFX claims to offer four types of trading accounts - Bronze, Silver, Gold and Black, with minimum initial deposit requirements of €3,500, €7,000, €25,000 and €100,000 respectively. In comparison, licensed brokers allow setting up a starter account with a minimum deposit of $100 or even less.

Account Types

Leverage

The specified leverage for different account types at CAPITALFX varies between 200:1 and 500:1. Leverage is adjusted based on account types. The leverage is capped at 200:1 for the Bronze account, 300:1 for the Silver account, 400:1 for the Gold account and 500:1 for the Black account. It is important to keep in mind that the greater the leverage, the greater the risk of losing your deposited capital. The use of leverage can both work in your favour and against you.

Spreads & Commissions

In the platform screenshot below we see a 0.5 pips spread for EUR/USD, while the regulated brokers generally provide a spread of 1 - 1.2 pips for EUR/USD. Likely CAPITALFX charges commissions for every trade executed, however, though it is not announced on the website.

Trading Platform Available

Instead of the industry-standard MetaTrdaer4 and MetaTrader5, CAPITALFX gives traders a web-based trading platform - Activ8 trader. The overall functionality is generally positive. It also offers a fluid synchronization with both MetaQuotes platforms (MT4 & MT5) and is available as an Android and iOS app too.

Trading Platform Available

Deposit & Withdrawal

According to the information on the Internet, we found that CAPITALFXs website seems to offer the logos different payment methods - credit cards (VISA & MasterCard), Wire Transfer, OK Pay and Bitcoin. In their client area, however, only credit card processors are offered.

Deposit & Withdrawal

The minimum initial deposit requirement is said to be $250, while opening the most basic account requires a minimum deposit amount of €3,500. The minimum withdrawal amount is $50, while legitimate brokers rarely put a threshold on the withdrawal amount for their clients.

The broker also charges a fixed commission of $30 for every withdrawal, and in their Terms and Conditions, which states “Commissions for deposit and/or withdraw of funds may be amended by us from time to time.”

Bonuses & Fees

CAPITALFX claims to offer a Welcome Bonus, which differs depending on the account type. There seems to be no welcome bonus on the Bronze account, while 25% on the Silver account, 50% on the Gold account and variable bonuses on the Black account. However, to withdraw funds from an account that has been credited with a bonus, the trader will be required to execute a minimum trading volume of half the bonus amount in standard lots ($100,000).

Also, the broker charges a Dormant fee for inactive accounts - a fixed payment of $100 every three months for account maintenance.

Customer Support

CAPITALFX‘s customer support can be reached by telephone: +35 722 278 302, email: support@capitalfx.co. However, this broker doesn’t disclose other more direct contact information like the company address that most transparent brokers offer.

Things I wish someone had told me before investing in Markets.com

When I first came across Markets.com, I was impressed. Founded in 2008 and offering a broad range of tradable assets — including forex, shares, commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies, ETFs, and even bonds — it looked like a solid platform for both new and experienced traders. With up to 1:500 leverage and access to multiple trading platforms like MT4/MT5, TradingView, and a proprietary web/mobile app, it seemed like a comprehensive solution.
